Tangible Design Tool

Physical Interaction Tool | Interaction Design | Team Workflow Support

This project is for creating a tangible interface design tool for interior magazine, the 3 main roles there are manager, designer, and researcher. The tool helps them to improve efficiency, maintain unity, and have easy communication. In this project we used "Smoke and mirrors". It's about presenting a visual "end result" to gather feedback without having to fully develop the backend or actual implementation. In this project, the "smoke and mirrors" elements likely include : Simulated interaction recognition, Pre-recorded responses, and feedback loops. Whole process is like acting.

The part I like

I would say my favorite part of Tangible is the part of the magazine design. As a designer, the fact is that can see and touch the things in the design, and will have a very physical sense of achievement. It is also easier to present and design the factual situation. And the final present part is really pleasant, but unfortunately due to the time reason I can’t show whole process of this experience.

Challenges

We received a lot of feedback and changed it all the time, spending a lot of time working in groups and accommodating each other's ideas. I think it's also a good group practice for me to express my ideas, gather the ideas of others, and work together to make a great project.

Future Concern

If I had more time, I would have thought about how multiple characters interact and use Hiveos at the same time. This time, the five flows only show the use of different characters in different situations, and there is not too much direct interaction with other characters.
